Autoimmune thyroid disease associate celiac disease: Patients with autoimmune thyroid disease are more susceptible to developing celiac disease than the average population. Celiac disease is an autimmune disease characterized by intolerance to gluten by the small intestine .The type and severity of symptoms varies amongst people - some people have severe gastrointestinal symptoms from infancy whereas other have no symptoms other than fatigue or anemia during adulthood. Usually affected more man than women.
